Montréal QC roots.
Twenty-five years in Hamilton, ON.
And since 2021, home is Richmond, BC.
The path to French language services was anything but straight — and that's exactly what makes it rich. A B.Comm. in marketing and a decade in sales and marketing (including GE Appliances) built a sharp business instinct before a deliberate pivot in 2003 to pursue a deeper passion: French language and culture.
Graduate studies followed — including a PhD (ABD) in French/Food Studies at McMaster University — alongside the launch of a full-time French voice-over and translation career.
That combination of business acumen, graduate-level expertise in French including academic research and teaching, as well as real-world corporate experience across multiple industries is what clients get when they work with me.
Community has always been central. From 2003 to 2021, countless volunteer hours went into supporting French-speaking communities in Hamilton and across Ontario — primarily as a Board member of the Centre francophone de Hamilton inc. and as host of French Toast, a French-language radio show on CFMU 93.3FM which ran from 2010 until 2020.
In 2020, that commitment was recognized with the international Chevalier de l'Ordre de la Pléiade medal, awarded to just six people across Ontario for exceptional contributions to the vitality of the French-Ontarian community.
Since Spring 2025, the microphone has found a new home with The Coolest Journey — a radio show and podcast exploring the intersections of health, environment, and often open water adventures.

On the personal side: obsessed with creating and adapting delicious, healthy, vegan, top 10 allergen-free recipes. Fuelled by bags of organic McIntosh apples and daily Radio-Canada French programming. Found equally on nature trails, in a karate dojo with my husband, and — most happily — in salty open water, year-round. If Mama Tierra y Papa Cielo align the stars, swimming with wild dolphins in Hawaii.
A portion of proceeds from Hélène Caron Consulting is donated to help kids attend French-speaking summer camps in the Hamilton area, and to support the contributions of graduate students in the French Department at McMaster University to Hamilton's francophonie.
I acknowledge Indigenous Peoples throughout Canada, which include Inuit, Métis and more than 900,000 people living in more than 630 First Nations communities, and in cities across these lands.
I am grateful to live, work, and be in relation with people from across many traditional and unceded territories, covering all regions of British Columbia and particularly the Lower Mainland where Richmond is situated: unceded traditional and ancestral lands of the Kwantlen, QayQayt First Nation, q̓íc̓əy̓ (Katzie), Semiahmoo, Tsawwassen First Nations, kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) and Stó:lō Nation.
